1.  I've survived almost 8 days on my own with the kids.  I haven't yelled or lost my temper more than usual.  Kevin comes home late tonight!

2.  Since Kevin has been gone, I haven't been able to work out because I've had to get the kids up early enough to catch the bus.  This means I've really had to watch my eating.  I have a tendency to overeat in the evenings when he is gone, but this week, I think I did pretty well.  I could have done better, but in general, I was successful.  No free ranging in the pantry.

3.  I can't think of any other successes. It's been a pretty hectic week.  I'm glad it's almost over!

  1. Great job Mary! I also struggle with overeating during the week when Jeff is not here (which is every week, so I need to nip it in the bud). Great job being more attuned to it. BTW, I love in your header picture how the two on the end are hugging. That is so my boys!

  2. Well done! Hate it when we have to solo parent, but sometimes you just have to. Good for you making through the week. As for the exercise, it may be a good thing. I've read that when you exercise regularly it is good to build in a week of nothing. When you start back up your bodies' metabolism starts up again. (Does that make sense? It did when I read it.)

  3. Great job on #1. It's always hard to hold it together when you're the only parent at home for several days. My tactic for business trips is to plan fun distractions for the kids and pray that they won't act up too much because they miss their dad.

  4. Good job! My Hubby has been out of town a lot lately. It really does take a toll on me. It is very hard to find time for yourself. I get grumpy because not only do I have to be the one that stays home int he AM to get the youngest off the school, but then I have to leave work early to drive to football practice or run the band carpool. My boys are 15 and 11 so I have been maing each responsible for dinner on night a week. So we may end up with frozen pizza when it is the 15 yo'd turn, but it's dinner that I did not have to worry about. LOL!

  5. Handling everything for 8 days by yourself is worth three successes! Way to go!
